INTRODUCTION
Labour & Human Resources Department is responsible to promote industrialization and industrial peace as well as observance of labour laws and rules.
It is mandated to promote investment and employment in the province.
It is also responsible for the welfare of working labour force and enhancement of its capacity through training and development.
After 18th Amendment in the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, wherein the Concurrent Legislative List has been abolished and all the subjects enumerated in the said list have been devolved to the Provinces by virtue of article 142(c). 16 Labour laws have been enacted by the Provincial Assembly of Sindh after tripartite consultations: -

- The Sindh Workers Welfare Fund Act, 2014.
- The Sindh Employees Old-Age Benefits Act, 2014.
- The Sindh Companies Profits (Workers Participation) Act, 2015.
- The Sindh Workers Compensation Act, 2015.
- The Sindh Minimum Wages Act, 2015.
- The Sindh Terms of Employment (Standing Orders), Act, 2015.
- The Sindh Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 2015.
- The Sindh Factories Act, 2015.
- The Sindh Shops & Commercial Establishment Act, 2015.
- The Sindh Payment of Wages Act, 2015.
- The Sindh Prohibition of Employment of Children Act, 2017.
- The Sindh Employees Social Security Act,2016.
- The Sindh Occupational Safety & Health Act,2017.
- The Sindh Home Based Workers Act,2018.
- The Sindh Women Agricultural Workers Act, 2019.
