ABOUT 

The National Institute of Labour Administration Training (NILAT) has one of the oldest and pioneer training institute in the country which was setup by the Government of Pakistan in the year 1956-57 to impart training at the tripartile level in the fields of Labour Administration & Industrial Welfare.

After the 18th Amendment in the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. NILAT devolved to the Government of Sindh w.e.f 01-07-2011 and functioning under  the Administrative Control of the Labour and Human Resources Department.

Statutory Function

Sindh Factories Rules 1975 (Rule No.50 (2)(b) and K.P .(THE THEN N.W.F.P). Rule 50(2) made under the Factories Act,1934 (Section 24-A ) gives recognition to the Post Graduate Diploma of NILAT as adequate qualification for the appointment against the post of Welfare Officer.

Function

Training is the main function of NILAT, which organizes the following four types of training courses.

1. Long Term: 24 –Week Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Labour Administration and Industrial Welfare.
2. Short Term: 03- days and 05-days short duration courses on different Labour related topics
3. The Inter-Country & Inter-Regional Courses are organized in collaboration with ILO, FES etc. Participants come from various Asian and South Pacific Countries to attend these courses.
4. NILAT also organize National, Regional and Local Seminars, Workshops and Symposia on different topics.

OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of NILAT is to develop a class of competent Labour Administrators capable of performing well in responsible position at the various echelons of the administrative hierarchy and maintaining industrial peace in their establishment

Training

      NILAT is offering its following training activities for the years 2023-2024

1. 61^st 24-Week Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Labour Administration and Industrial Welfare is starting form 25^th September 2023
2. 03-day short duration courses on different labour related topics. The Schedule of Training Courses for 2023-2024 can download from the link given in the Download tab.

Admission Criteria

Target Groups

Three Categories of candidates will be given admission

1. In Service managers or other staff in industries. Government departments and public corporation
2. Nominees of the national trade unions at least Graduate
3. Fresh Graduate

Admission Requirements  

Target Groups

Candidates must be:

1. At least Graduate from a recognized university of Pakistan or abroad
2. Not More than 45 years of age

Admission Procedure 

1. The last date for receiving application for admission in the post graduate diploma (PGD) courses is at least one month before the start of the diploma Courses
2. Every candidate desirous of taking admission to the diploma course can obtain an admission /nomination form from the Institute’s Office during normal working hours from 09.00 a.m to 04:00 p.m
3. The application form dully filled in along with two attested copies each of the educational certificates and degrees ( Matric/Inter/B.A/B.Sc/M.A/M.Sc etc.) mark sheets, C.N.I.C , and three Passport Size Photographs are required to be submitted in the Institute’s Office  before the Closing date

Fee Details

NILAT, Karachi is providing all training courses free of cost except the Post Graduate Diploma Courses . NILAT only charging of very nominal fees for the Post Graduate Diploma Courses which details are under.

1. Nominees of the Federal/Provincial Governments, Employers and Worker’s Organization chargers Rs 2000/= (Rupees two thousands only) for the entire diploma courses
2. 1,500/= (Rupees one thousand five hundreds only) charge for the whole term from the fresh graduate who apply for admission at their own level.

NOTE: This fee include tuition fee only and all other possible expenses will be borne by the nominated department / organization or the participant enrolling individually
